Classes of members

Ordinary Members: An entity which carries on business activities or has a business interest in the Area and to which at least one of the following applies is eligible to apply for membership as an Ordinary Member; (i) a body corporate or another form of entity established in Japan; (ii) a related body corporate of an entity referred to in (i); (iii) a body corporate or another form of entity which is owned and/or controlled by a Japanese citizen or citizens; (iv) a body corporate or another form of entity to which at least 1 Japanese citizen belongs (regardless of his or her capacity, such as an owner, officer, partner, employee or secondee). Associate members: An entity which carries on business activities or has a business interest in the Area and to which one of the following applies is eligible to apply for membership as an Associate Member: (i) a body corporate or another form of entity which approve of the Association’s objects and activities; (ii) an entity which is eligible to apply for membership as an Ordinar Member. Special Member: An entity which has physical presence in the Area and to which at least one of the following applies is eligible to apply for membership as a Special Member: (i) a body politic of Japan, whether it be the central government, prefectural government or local government; (ii) a statutory body established under the law of Japan; (iii) an industry or other association or organisation established in Japan.
